The work examines the instinctive connection between parents and children, rooted in physical resemblance, and explores the question that this visual signifier—the fixed face—can be diluted through the application of masks, thereby challenging the fundamental bond between them.

By concealing the face, the work does not merely obscure identity but initiates a process of deconstructing and reconstructing both identity and relational dynamics. While the figure of the parent profoundly shapes the child's sense of self, the project investigates the extent to which this connection is mediated, reinforced, or destabilized by visual resemblance.
《Masquerade》는 "부모의 얼굴을 지울 수 있을까"라는 질문에서 시작한다. 부모와 자식은 외형적 유사성을 통해 본능적으로 연결되지만, 그 시각적 표식, 즉 고정된 얼굴을 다양한 가면으로 희석시키면 관계의 본질적인 연결도 흐릿해질 수 있지 않을까 라는 질문에서 출발한 작업이다.
이 과정은 단순히 얼굴을 감추는 것이 아니라, 정체성과 관계를 해체하고 재구성하는 행위를 담고 있다. 부모라는 존재는 자식의 정체성에 깊은 영향을 미치지만, 그 연결이 시각적 닮음에 의해 얼마나 강화되거나 약화될 수 있는지 실험적으로 탐구한다.
